Carthage Gap Campground

Activity List 2026

All of our campground guests are allowed to participate in our scheduled activities. Activities are not open to the public. All events will be held at the pavilion unless stated otherwise. These activities cannot be successful without the help of our campers volunteering. Volunteers are always needed to help prepare food and to clean up after the event. Please feel free to jump in and help at anytime!

Main dishes for all activities are provided by the campground (except for our Halloween Party). We ask that our campers bring a covered dish and/or desserts to help provide a full meal. You must bring your own drinks (alcoholic beverages are not allowed at the pavilion). Pets are not allowed at the pavilion during scheduled activities.

Opening Day - May 1st

We are officially open for the 2026 camping season!

Brunch - May 9th @ 10 am

Donate eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. to the pavilion refrigerator by Friday evening. Make sure meat is thawed and sausage is made into patties.
Our volunteers will cook it for you on the day of.

Brunch - June 13th @ 10 am

Campground Yard Sale - July 4th @ 9 am

Bring your yard sale things and set up at your campsite. Starting at 9am and ending whenever you want to stop.
Not open to the public - campers and their guests only.

Brunch - July 11th @ 10 am

Donate eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. to the pavilion refrigerator by Friday evening. Make sure meat is thawed and sausage is made into patties.

Corn Roast - July 25th @ 5 pm

We provide fresh, local corn roasted to perfection. Please bring your hotdogs with buns and/or covered dishes and desserts to the pavilion by Friday evening.

Ice Cream Social - August 22nd @ 2 pm

We will provide vanilla and chocolate ice cream. Feel free to bring your favorite flavor, homemade ice cream, or favorite toppings to the pavilion!

Soup Beans - September 26th @ 5 pm

Soup beans freshly made by campfire are a delicacy of our campground. Please bring your covered dishes/desserts to the pavilion by 4:45 pm. If you donated hot dogs and buns for this event, you do not have to provide a covered dish.

Halloween Party - October 10th starting @ 5 pm

We strongly encourage decorations of campsites for this event!

Please bring your choice of soup, chili, covered dish, or dessert to the pavilion by 4:45 pm. If you donated hot dogs and buns for this event, you do not have to provide the choices listed above.

When everyone is done eating, usually around 6:00 - 6:30 pm, volunteers will clean up the pavilion while the children return to their camper to put on their costumes.
We ask that all children return to the pavilion by 6:45 pm to participate in the piñata at 7:00 pm. Group pictures of participants are taken at this time (see photo disclaimer in General Rules).

Once the piñata is broken, usually around 8:00 pm, the kids are free to walk around the campground for trick-or-treat. During this time, we ask that all vehicles remain parked due to the amount of kids running around.

Closing Day - October 31st

All seasonal campers must be closed up by the end of this day.
